Water
Solar Thermal Sea-Water Desalination (120 TPD) Plant at NTECL Vallur
Brief
Brief
This is India's largest CPC technology-based plant which produces drinking water based on solar thermal technology. This technology is very much useful where plenty of sea water is available but there is no heat source to generate low pressure steam. To minimize both capital and operating cost, this plant uses non imaging type Compound Parabolic Concentrators (CPC). The CPC works on GHI (Global Horizontal Irradiance) and it does not require sun tracker.
