The Creep Fatigue Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to exploring the mechanical behaviour of materials under high temperature and stress conditions. Specializing in high-temperature mechanical characterization, and Residual stress analysis the lab supports cutting-edge research and industrial applications where materials are pushed to their limits.
Facilities and Capabilities
The capabilities enable researchers and engineers to understand deformation mechanisms, predict service life, and optimize material performance for power generation applications. Equipped with precision instrumentation and thermal control systems, the lab offers a comprehensive suite of tests including:
· Room and high-temperature tensile testing up to 700 °C
· Creep-fatigue interaction studies with variable hold times (15–60 minutes)
· Creep crack growth analysis for long-term durability
· Impression creep testing over extended durations (up to 1000 hours)
· Thermomechanical fatigue testing to simulate real-world thermal cycles
· XRD based Residual stress analyser
